每个挑选过家具的人都知道沙发在室内装潢中的重要性，但是好的沙发却非常难找。这位以伦敦为据点的艺术家 Maximo Riera 提供大家一种不一样的选择，他用动物为主题制作出这些被收藏在博物馆也不为过并且艺术价值与实用性兼具的沙发。

Artist Máximo Riera beautifully bridges the gap between form and function, taking interior design into the realm of high art.

每件沙发都是接受订单后才开始制作，制作时间约11周。

Each piece is made to order, and takes anywhere between nine and 11 weeks to complete.

这些雕塑作品一个个都非常栩栩如生，但除此之外又是实际能使用的家具。需要做出这些特殊、逼真又能实际使用的作品需要非常强大的雕刻技术。借由最新的3D模型软体设计，在经过独特的调色后，打造出这些独一无二的作品！

By implementing the latest in 3-D modeling software and giving each creation its own unique color signature, no two pieces are exactly alike.

Maximo与他的工作人员还使用最先进的工程与制造技术确保每件雕刻从打草稿到完成为止的细节都要精准到位。

Riera and his team also make use of the most advanced engineering and manufacturing techniques available to ensure that every sculpture is drafted and created with painstaking attention to detail.

就算撇开艺术性质不谈，这些家具也非常的坚固耐用，由金属框和高密度聚氨酯制作而成。

Artfulness aside, these pieces are incredibly sturdy, since they each contain metal frames and are sculpted from high-density polyurethane.

好几周的制作过程中，每一张椅子的工时就至少花480个小时。

Over the course of many weeks, Riera puts in about 480 hours of work on every single chair.

这些高品质的材质制造出的家具的坚固度不会输给实木家具，而这一系列作品也有向大自然致敬的意义。

The collection's mission is to pay homage to nature's own works of art.

Maximo说到「这一系列作品能让我们瞻仰大自然的伟大作品，这也是为什么我从一开始就坚持一定要呈现动物最真实的面貌。」

"This collection," he writes, "gives us the option of admiring what nature is capable of. This is the main reason why — from the beginning — I wanted to be faithful to the animal's physique."

Maximo致力于捕捉动物的精华并重现于作品中，因为他认为大自然所创造出的动物就是世界上最美的艺术。

Riera's dedication to capturing the essence of his animal subjects is rooted in the idea that nature has already produced the most stunning creations of all.
